Our front garden is the beating heart of Hendrik in spring and summer. It is sheltered on the historic Breedstraat, in the heart of Vreeland’s old town, catches plenty of sun and offers lots of space.
With gravel underfoot, flowers everywhere, hydrangeas along the wall and ancient grapevines, you could almost be in France. In the middle stands our magnificent wych elm, which looks different every season.
Hendrik is the perfect stop during a walk, bike ride or boat trip on the river Vecht. Enjoy a cup of coffee, a leisurely lunch, or let the afternoon drift into drinks. On warm summer evenings, dining outside here is a real treat. Thanks to the patio heaters, it’s just as pleasant on cooler evenings and well into autumn. And your dog? Of course they’re very welcome too.
Behind the restaurant is a second garden, with lots of greenery and a playhouse. The children can play to their hearts’ content while you relax at your table.
